This year Mind are focusing on stress and how we cope with it in our working lives.
Nationally Mind has released information on how both employers and employees can create a mentally healthy workplace where everyone feels valued and supported.
As an employer, Northampton and District Mind have joined in with creating a ‘Stress awareness space’ in our offices with staff adding their thoughts on ways we cope with stress. We add these thoughts up on the office wall to both encourage and inspire our colleagues to make managing stress a priority. Our members too have got involved and have created their own stress awareness space!

Free Stress Awareness Space Kit
We’re celebrating Mental Health Awareness week with a variety of activities and events across the county.
This week we’re excited to visit local businesses such as Barclaycard, Northampton General Hospital and the Spring Charity to talk about Mental Health and offer up our support on tackling stress and emotional resilience in the work place.
What’s on at Northampton & District Mind?
Are you a member of Northampton and District Mind? This week we have a variety of activities taking place at our centres to get involved with and join the conversation.
Northampton Minds peer support sessions will be focused on starting conversations around improving their well-being. Members will be able to pop in for a cuppa and add their thoughts on how they stay positive as well as discussing ways to cope with daily stress.
The Mind choir have been rehearsing some uplifting songs to perform for our members on Wednesday 16th. Here at Mind we have loved watching our choir go from strength to strength; music has proven to be a great tool in supporting our members’ recovery and Wednesday will be a great treat to here our guys sing!
What’s on at Daventry Mind?
On Thursday 15th May from 10-12.30pm, we’ve been invited to an open event at Kilsby village Hall, where the parish council are running a series of events throughout the week. Come and get involved where our staff will be holding the following activities:
Well-being flower session – focused on improving our overall well-being and coping with stress. Using a growing flower as a visual tool to help identify personal strengths and how to improve a healthy balance in life.
Breathing mindfully session – using the power of our own breath to calm and relax our mind. As well as using progressive muscle relaxation to incorporate our bodies too. This session is aimed at teaching you new techniques that can be useful to lower anxiety and stress.
